ATS-Optimized Resume writing services

Beat the Bots

Get More Interviews with an ATS-Ready Toronto Resume

97.4% of Fortune 500 companies use an Applicant Tracking System (ATS), and Toronto's main employers take applications through one too: Workday at RBC, TD, BMO and CIBC, SmartRecruiters at UHN, the City's careers portal, OPS Careers and GC Jobs, where a person then reads every resume. Your Toronto resume writer engineers every line and layout to pass the portal and read well on the other side.

ATS-Optimized Layouts

One column, standard headings, no tables or text boxes, so the portal, the recruiter and the hiring panel all read the same resume.

Keyword-Enriched Content

The job titles, designations, systems and qualifications the posting uses, in the spelling it uses, placed where the software and the screener both find them.

Before & After

We Turn Duties Into Measurable Wins

Most Toronto resumes list duties and titles. Bank recruiters screen on numbers, hospital managers hire on scope and registration, and the City scores the posting. We replace the lines they skim past with lines that prove something.

BeforeResponsible for handling client calls and resolving issues.
AfterResolved 2,400 escalations a year at a Toronto bank contact centre, 94% first-call resolution, top 5% of 180 agents.
BeforeObjective: To obtain a position where I can use my skills.
AfterManaged 410 Ontario Works files at a City of Toronto employment office, decisions in 8 days against a 12-day standard.

AfterCharge nurse, 32-bed surgical unit at a downtown Toronto hospital, leading a team of 11 and precepting 6 new grads.
BeforeElectrician. Various sites. Hard worker.
After309A electrician on a 400-unit condo tower at Yonge and Eglinton, crew of 14, 2,200 hours a year, zero lost-time injuries.
BeforeWorked on software projects for the company.
AfterShipped 3 releases a year of a payments app used by 1.2 million customers at a Toronto fintech, incident rate cut by half.
BeforeLaid off in 2025. Seeking new opportunities.

Toronto Resume Transformation

How We Transform a Toronto Resume

One Toronto client, names and employers changed: a construction senior project manager whose resume read like a site foreman’s.

After: page 1 of the two-page Toronto construction senior project manager resume we wrote, with PMP, GSC and C.E.T. beside the name, a certifications and tickets block and quantified project results
AFTER
Before: a one-page resume headed Senior Project Manager, with an objective statement, duty bullets, a personal email address, an interests line, references on request and the PMP and Gold Seal under Other BEFORE

See the full two-page after resume →

The same Toronto project manager, one page before and two pages after.

The PMP and Gold Seal Move Beside the Name

The PMP and Gold Seal sat under "Other" at the bottom of the page. Now PMP, GSC and C.E.T. sit beside the name under the posting's title, Senior Project Manager, and the safety tickets get their own block.

The Portfolio Comes Before the Duties

“Manage construction projects from start to finish” becomes an overview a Toronto general contractor can picture: a $320 million portfolio of four sites, 38 trade contractors and a peak workforce of 220 on a live hospital campus.

Duties Turned Into Numbers

“Make sure the job gets done on time and on budget” becomes a $180 million patient tower on schedule and 2.3% under the guaranteed maximum price, and five projects without a lost-time injury.

The Toronto Job Market

How Hiring Works in Toronto, and What It Means for Your Resume

Toronto is a bank town, a hospital city and a capital. The Big Five head offices and the insurers sit on Bay Street, the hospitals line University Avenue and the suburbs, the Ontario Public Service works out of Queen’s Park, and the tech firms, the tower cranes and the City itself hire alongside them. Each employer reads a resume differently.

The Employers of Bay Street and University Avenue

Financial services anchor the market. All five of Canada's largest banks are headquartered here, TD alone counts more than 95,000 colleagues, finance and insurance employed about 460,200 people across the Toronto area in March 2025, and the sector drew 4,178 postings in the three months to March 2026, more than any other. Health care is the other anchor: UHN has more than 20,000 members of TeamUHN across 10 sites, Scarborough Health Network has 6,000 staff and 950 physicians, and SickKids, Sinai Health, Unity Health, Sunnybrook, Humber River and CAMH recruit beside them, with 2,239 health care postings in the same three months. The public sector sits on top: the Toronto Public Service had 44,335 active employees at the end of September 2026, 11,730 of them recreation workers, before counting the TTC, the police and the library; the Ontario Public Service is a workforce of 60,000-plus run from Queen's Park; and the federal departments hire through GC Jobs. Around them sit U of T, TMU, York and the colleges, the technology and consulting offices along King West and the MaRS corridor, the general contractors building the transit lines and the towers, and the head offices of the telecoms, the retailers and the pension funds.

Workday, Screening Questions and the Five-Page Rule

Four of the five big banks take applications through Workday career sites, RBC, TD, BMO and CIBC, where the resume you upload fills the profile a recruiter searches by title and keyword; Scotiabank runs its own careers site. The City of Toronto takes applications only through a candidate profile on jobs.toronto.ca, asks job-specific questions inside the application, closes postings at 11:59 p.m. on the deadline, and interviews recreation candidates on a panel of two or more staff after a pre-screening questionnaire. The Ontario Public Service posts every external ad for at least 10 working days, screens and rates each application against the qualifications in the ad, caps the cover letter and resume at five pages combined, and invites the strongest written demonstrations to evaluation, with a security screening check where the ad says so. UHN's SmartRecruiters portal accepts one document, so the cover letter and resume travel in one file. The TTC takes applications only online through a candidate profile. Federal postings run through GC Jobs, where each screening question needs its own answer with examples, written in the first person, and you apply only if you meet every essential qualification.

Campus Season, the Summer Programs and the Fiscal Year

Toronto's year has a shape. The City begins recruiting for part-time summer recreation jobs in December and for fall, winter and spring jobs in June, and it carries 11,730 recreation workers on the books. The Ontario Public Service posts its Summer Employment Opportunities in the fall and winter with staggered closings from early February, and the Ontario Internship Program's recruitment begins in December, closed on January 30 in 2026, and runs through the following summer. The banks run their campus cycle a year ahead: TD's board was carrying Winter 2027 co-op and Summer 2027 intern postings in November 2026, and the OPS posts its own ads for at least 10 working days before the screen. Hospital postings run all year, and a City competition can take weeks from the closing date to a call. A resume written for Toronto shows this pattern as a career, not as a string of short jobs.

Whether you call it a Toronto resume, a Bay Street resume or a City of Toronto application, the job is the same: written for the reader in front of you, in the format that reader expects.

FAQ

Toronto Resume Writing Service Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our resume writing services in Toronto

Elite Resume Writer provides resume writing services in Toronto and across the GTA by phone, email and video. Packages run from $99 (resume) to $199 (resume, cover letter and LinkedIn profile), with a first draft in 2 to 3 days and a 60-day interview guarantee. A small team of certified writers, led by founder Khaqan Chaudhry, writes to how the banks, the hospitals, the City of Toronto and the Ontario Public Service screen applications.
Working with our Toronto resume writer starts at $99 with the Essential package, which covers the resume. The Premium package ($149) adds a cover letter written to your posting, and the Elite package ($199) adds the LinkedIn profile recruiters check before they call. A second resume or cover letter is $49, a 24-hour rush is $25 and interview coaching starts at $79. Every package includes revisions for two weeks and the 60-day interview guarantee, at the same price every other client pays.
No office in Toronto, and yes to the GTA. We work with Toronto, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa entirely by phone, email and video, and keep separate pages for Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville and Hamilton. Clients book a 15-minute phone or video consultation and have their first draft within 2 to 3 business days. The resume is written to Toronto employers; your resume writer does not need to be on Bay Street to do that.
Through a candidate profile on jobs.toronto.ca, the City’s SAP SuccessFactors portal; applications close at 11:59 p.m. on the posting’s last day and cannot be edited once submitted. The application carries job-specific questions about the role and your previous City employment, plus a voluntary diversity survey, and recruiters then review resumes against the qualifications in the posting. Recreation hiring, which accounts for 11,730 of the City’s 44,335 employees, adds a pre-screening questionnaire and a panel interview with two or more staff. We write the resume to the posting and the screening answers to match, because both are read.
Through OPS Careers, where every external ad is posted for at least 10 working days. The OPS screens and rates each application against the qualifications in the ad and invites the applicants whose cover letter and resume best demonstrate them to the evaluation stage, which can include tests and interviews, with a security screening check where the ad says so. The cover letter and resume combined may not exceed five pages, so we write a two-page resume and a one-page letter that walks through the qualifications in the ad’s own order, with the job ID on both.
If you have applied to more than twenty postings without a call, usually yes. Toronto’s unemployment rate was 7.1% in October 2026, down from 8.6% a year earlier, so the people still applying are better matched, and finance and insurance alone drew 4,178 postings in three months, each read by software before a person. A $99 resume that fixes the format, the designations line and the keywords costs less than another month of applying, and the 60-day interview guarantee keeps the risk on our side.
Several places, all free, for the resume help in Toronto job seekers ask about most. JVS Toronto runs five Employment Source centres in Toronto, North York, Markham and Scarborough with one-on-one coaching and resume workshops. The YMCA of Greater Toronto’s employment centres offer one-to-one support and resume tips across Toronto, Peel, York and Durham. Toronto Public Library’s Job and Career Help page, its Book a Librarian service and the business departments at the Toronto Reference Library and North York Central Library help with research and resumes. Newcomers use ACCES Employment, COSTI, WoodGreen and the TRIEC Mentoring Partnership, students use the career centres at U of T, TMU and York, and Employment Ontario centres across the city offer job search help to eligible job seekers. Free help is usually a workshop or general feedback, which is often enough for a first resume. If you are applying to a specific bank posting, a UHN competition or a City of Toronto job and want the document written for that reader, start with the free resume review Toronto clients use before they decide: send your current resume with the posting and we tell you what we would change.
RBC, TD, BMO and CIBC take applications through Workday career sites, where the resume you upload fills a candidate profile that recruiters search by title and keyword; Scotiabank runs its own careers site. We write a one-column resume that parses cleanly, lead each role with the portfolio, volume or dollars, put designations such as CFA, CPA, CSC and FRM beside the name, and match the LinkedIn profile, because the recruiter reads that next. TD’s campus board was already carrying Winter 2027 co-op and Summer 2027 intern postings in November 2026, so students apply a year ahead.
Yes, each network has its own portal. UHN’s SmartRecruiters site accepts one document, so UHN itself asks that the cover letter and resume be uploaded as a single file; SickKids, Sunnybrook, Unity Health and Scarborough Health Network take applications through their own careers sites. We state your CNO, CMLTO or college registration exactly, name the unit and the scope, and build the file so it parses and still reads well to the manager, in a market where UHN alone has more than 20,000 members of TeamUHN.
Yes. Toronto is the largest newcomer job market in the country, and its recruiters see international CV conventions every day. We rebuild yours to a two-page Canadian resume: credential assessment and licensing status on the first page, Canadian certifications where recruiters look, each employer explained in one line, and the personal details Canadian employers do not ask for removed. If an Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program stream is part of your plan, we write the job title and duties to match your NOC, because the resume and the application should agree. Pairs with our newcomer resume writing service.
Plainly and briefly. A restructuring is not a performance issue, and hiring managers here know it; a technology cut, a head office consolidation or a retail chain winding down is not a reflection on the people who worked there. The dates close cleanly, the record leads with results, and the one-line explanation, if one is needed, goes in the cover letter, not the resume.
Ask who actually writes the resume, whether you can speak with that person, what they know about the employers you are applying to, and what happens if it does not work. Look for certified writers, a sample you can read, verified reviews you can click through to, and a guarantee in writing. Every resume here is written by a certified Toronto resume writer you can talk to by phone or video, backed by verified Google reviews and a 60-day interview guarantee.
